BIOGRAPHY

STEVE DAVIS, CPIM

Steve Davis, President of Future Process, has over 23 years of experience in all aspects of Materials and Supply Chain Management including Production Control, ERP/MRP Implementation, Inventory Management, Warehousing and Distribution, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing/Just-In-Time Processes. Management focus has been on process and organizational development, redesign and simplification to support growth and reduce throughput time, operating costs, inventory investment and improve customer service.

Mr. Davis has held positions with Fortune 500 and leading growth companies such as The Gillette Co., Harman JBL and Packard Bell/NEC.

His accomplishments include:

Systems Implementation:

  • MRP and MPS Systems Project Manager for successful MRP implementations at the Gillette Co. and Packard Bell Electronics.
  • Developed and implemented Master Production Scheduling functions with major positive impacts on customer service, inventory levels and shop floor flow.

Inventory Management:

  • Developed and implemented processes, systems and organizational improvements to achieve high inventory turns.
  • Managed multi-billion dollar yearly inventory flows while increasing turns and tripling production output.
  • Developed and implemented inventory accuracy, cycle count and physical inventory programs resulting in 98% accuracy levels and increased customer service.

Purchasing:

  • Developed and implemented procurement systems to include Planner/Buyer concepts, automatic release, small batch/short lead time and other synchronous manufacturing processes and JIT elements listed.
  • Established purchasing organizations, processes and supplier relationships to reduce overall costs, improve component design and performance, narrow and focus vendor base and attain inventory and company performance improvements listed.


JIT/Continuous Flow:

  • Implemented high volume, 24 hour, direct vendor delivery programs reducing inventory from 4 weeks to 4 hours.
  • Developed and implemented internal flow and replenishment process for components and sub-assemblies executed by the line personnel using pull systems and visual signaling devises.

Training:

  • Experienced instructor at the university level. Instructor for APICS and CSUN Certification Programs.
  • Developed and presented training programs for MRP Implementation, Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Counting and Physical Inventory, Material Flow and Bill of Material Structure.

Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing:

  • Developed and managed Process Improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs contributing to significant improvements in:

      Lead Time Reduction, Production Throughput, Inventory Turns, Customer Service, Inventory Accuracy , BOM Accuracy, Schedule Attainment, Shortage Reduction and Vendor Performance

Steve is APICS certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Past-President of the San Fernando Valley Chapter of APICS and an instructor at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Operations Management and Master of Science Degree in Business Administration Management from CSUN.
