BIOGRAPHY GENE OSTER, CPIM Gene Oster has 42 years experience in all phases of training, implementation and consulting in strategic planning, process improvement, Total Quality Management, ISO 9000, Manufacturing Resource Planning, and Just-in Time / Lean Manufacturing. He has held technical positions and executive management positions in manufacturing companies as well as sales and distribution companies. As an independent training consultant since 1991, he specializes in:
Facilitating team meetings at both executive and technical levels. Systems analysis and vendor selection for MRP/ERP software. Prior to independent consulting, Gene was directly responsible for TQM and MRP and JIT training, field engineering; and company operations including R & D, engineering, marketing, materials and manufacturing. He has held positions including Vice President of Operations, Plant Manager, Director of Training and Field Engineering. He has successfully implemented large scale training programs at Litton Guidance and Control, Litton Data Systems, Teledyne Systems, ITT Gilfillan, and Anheuser-Busch. He has participated on 3 Baldrige quality audit teams at the request of ITT Corporate. He has been associated with California State University, Northridge (CSUN) for 17 years, designed and presented their TQM certificate program and ISO 9000 program. He has also presented classes in math modeling and inventory management at the University of Southern California (USC). Gene is Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and is certified as a national Train-the-Trainer instructor by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS). He speaks at national and local chapter meetings. He is currently doing training and consulting for The City of Glendale Department of Public Works He has a BA in mathematics and an MS in Management Information Systems.
